Is it safe to put resident information in HIPAA Chat?
Yes. Every plan, including the free trial, comes with a signed BAA. PHI is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM and in transit with TLS 1.2 or higher (TLS 1.3 where your browser supports it).
Will you sign a BAA before we start?
Yes. You sign it during sign-up, before anyone sends a first message.
Do you train AI on our data?
No. Your messages, files and data are never used to train a model.
Can we keep chats from being stored?
Yes. Turn on zero-retention mode and no chat is stored. You can also set retention rules for uploads and the Library.
What will my team actually use it for?

Can it read our own databases and spreadsheets?
Yes. Connect Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift, or upload Excel and CSV files. Database passwords stay in a separate runner the agent can’t see.
Will staff see data they shouldn’t?
No. Each person sees only what their access allows. Admins set roles and access groups, and every run is in the audit log.
Which AI does it use?
Claude Haiku, Sonnet and Opus from Anthropic. You choose the model and how hard it thinks for each message.
